Stellar populations in the transition region of nuclear star cluster and nuclear stellar disc

چکیده

ABSTRACT The Milky Way nuclear star cluster (NSC) is located within the stellar disc (NSD) in Galactic Centre. It not fully understood if formation and evolution of these two components are connected, how they influence each other. We study populations transition region NSC NSD. observed ?4.3 pc2 fields with integral-field spectrograph KMOS (VLT), at r ? 20 pc (>4 Re) to East West NSC. extract analyse medium-resolution spectra >200 stars per field. data contain total nine young candidates. use photometry estimate masses, effective temperatures, spectral types stars. consistent an age 4–6 Myr, may have formed inside Quintuplet cluster, but were dispersed dynamical interactions. Most red giant stars, we measure their metallicities [M/H] using full fitting. compare our distributions NSD, from literature, find that overall metallicity decreases central NSC, over region, steep decrease dominated by NSD indicates distinct histories.

The maximum stellar mass, star-cluster formation and composite stellar populations

We demonstrate that the mass of the most massive star in a cluster correlates nontrivially with the cluster mass. A simple algorithm according to which a cluster is filled up with stars that are chosen randomly from the standard IMF but sorted with increasing mass yields an excellent description of the observational data. Algorithms based on random sampling from the IMF without sorted adding ar...

Stellar Populations in the Central Galaxies of Fossil Groups

It is inferred from the symmetrical and luminous X-ray emission of fossil groups that they are mature, relaxed galaxy systems. Cosmological simulations and observations focusing on their dark halo and inter-galactic medium properties confirm their early formation. Recent photometric observations suggest that, unlike the majority of non-fossil brightest group galaxies (BGGs), the central early-t...

Stellar Populations of the Globular Cluster

The rst large-format CCD color-magnitude diagram (CMD) in the B and V passbands is presented for the Galactic globular cluster M53 (NGC 5024). The observations consist of 40 pairs of B and V CCD frames with FWHM <1 00 .2. These frames were used to produce color-magnitude data for more than 20000 stars from the tip of the red giant-branch (RGB) to about two magnitudes below the main-sequence tur...

Stellar populations in local star - forming galaxies . II . - Recent star formation properties and stellar masses

We present the integrated properties of the stellar populations in the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) Survey galaxies. Applying the techniques described in the first paper of this series, we derive ages, burst masses and metallicities of the newly-formed stars in our sample galaxies. The population of young stars is responsible for the Hα emission used to detect the objects in the UCM ...

Modeling stellar populations in cluster galaxies

In this review I highlight the role played by spectrophotometric models in the study of galaxy evolution in distant clusters. I summarize the main achievements of the modeling of k+a spectra, the derivation of the star formation rate in emission line galaxies and the stellar ages of red cluster galaxies. The current knowledge of the dependence of the star formation histories on the galaxy morph...
